Musculoskeletal Imaging Section

The musculoskeletal section gives subspecialty radiologic imaging service to patients and their referring clinicians from University Hospital, the Anschutz Outpatient Center, and all related clinics. Radiographs, CT, and MR examinations are tailored to the clinical requirements. CT in the presence of orthopedic hardware is performed to evaluate for fusion or failure. All arthrographic, injection, and aspiration procedures are performed, including MR arthrograms. Biopsies using CT, fluoroscopy, or ultrasound control are performed. In conjunction with orthopedics, thermal ablation of osteoid osteoma under CT control is performed. For those patients who fit strict study criteria, thermal ablation of painful osseous metastases is performed.
