Adult Medical Genetics Program
|
WELCOME to the Adult Medical Genetics Program (AMGP) homepage. The AMGP was established in 1998 to diagnose, treat and study genetic disorders affecting adults. There are three main parts of the AMGP: The
Adult Medical Genetics Clinic: Our weekly clinic is
based at the University of Colorado Hospital and specifically focuses
on adults and their families affected by genetic conditions. We offer genetic consultations, which include diagnosis (including
presymptomatic genetic testing), genetic counseling and care for
genetic conditions. Research: We conduct several research studies. Current projects include: inherited cardiomyopathies, lysosomal
storage disorders, and polycystic kidney disease. Educational
Activities: Our educational outreach consists of various lectures
we have provided to health professionals and the lay community. We are involved in the training of residents and genetic counseling
students.
