Dr. Henthorn has an adjunct appointment in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy where he collaborates with Dr. Lawrence Ng on their NIH sponsored research projects. Dr. Henthorn is on the editorial board of the journal Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and reviews manuscripts for several anesthesiology and pharmacology journals in addition to having served on research review committees for the NIH and VA Merit Review. Dr. Henthorn also serves on the national committee for American Society of Anesthesiologists Committee on Drug Disposition and Anesthetic Action.

Dr. Jameson is active on the American Society of Anesthesiologists Subcommittees: Clinical Neurosciences, Patient Safety, Practice Management, History and Education, and Equipment Monitoring and Engineering Technology. Her long-term interest in education has led her to serve as an editor for the Self-Education and Evaluation (SEE) program, a semi-annual CME education product. She is active in the Society for Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care (SNACC) and American Society for Neurophysiologic Monitoring (ASNM) where she has provided workshops on intraoperative neurophysiologic techniques. Her research interests include neuroanesthesia, neuromonitoring and technologic innovations.

Dr. Hawkins joined the Department of Anesthesiology in 1992 and is currently Professor of Anesthesiology, Director of Residency Training and Director of Obstetric Anesthesia. Dr. Hawkins earned her medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine and completed her residency training at University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. She completed fellowships in Obstetric Anesthesia at Baylor College of Medicine and in Critical Care at University of Texas in Houston. She was on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston from 1985-1992.

Dr. Hawkins serves on the Board of Trustees of the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS), the Board of Directors of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER). She is Chairman of the Task Force on Practice Guidelines for Obstetrical Anesthesia for the ASA, and has served as President of the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) as well as Chairman of the ASA Committee on Obstetric Anesthesia. She is also a senior oral Board examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology. She serves as a reviewer for several anesthesiology and obstetric journals, JAMA and The New England Journal of Medicine.
