The Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center for the Advancement of Cognitive Technologies (RERC-ACT) is the nation’s first center to conduct research and development of assistive technologies for people with cognitive disabilities.

The RERC-ACT includes research and development projects, training activities, and the dissemination of informational materials. Twelve universities and private companies throughout the United States are involved in projects that will improve the lives of people with cognitive disabilities such as traumatic brain injuries, intellectual disabilities, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Funding is provided by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research under the US Department of Education, Grant #H133E040019 and the Coleman Institute for Cognitive Disabilities, 2003-2009.
