Worksite Accommodation/Ergonomics

Ergonomics Image
Paying attention to proper ergonomics at a computer or other workstation can help to reduce strain on joints, decrease pain and fatigue, increase endurance and optimize efficiency in the accomplishment of tasks. Assistive Technology Partners provides ergonomic consultation, evaluation and training for people with pain, limited physical function or disability who are seeking a job, returning to work following an injury, or wishing to maintain their current employment. ATP also works with employers who wish to hire or retain these valued workers to recommend adaptations to the employee’s work environment. Often, people with disabilities need only minor environmental adaptations to help them be more productive. Assistive Technology Partners applies a structured problem-solving approach to defining barriers and identifying the best ergonomic or assistive technology intervention for meeting the productivity needs of the employer and employee for the job in question.
