Julia Beems, MA, is the outreach coordinator for Assistive Technology Partners and a senior faculty instructor with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She has a graduate degree in rehabilitative counseling with an emphasis in vocational evaluation. Ms. Beems’ areas of expertise include low-tech, low-cost assistive technology solutions and modifications for rural and agricultural communities. She is chair of the Employment Committee of the Governor’s Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities, and serves on the Governor’s Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities, the Medicaid Consumer Advisory Committee, the Colorado Rural Health Steering Committee, and the Colorado AgrAbility Advisory Committee. She has been recognized by the American Horticultural Therapy Association for Humanitarian Service and by AARP as an Outstanding Community Partner.
