 Lorrie Harkness, Ph.D., is a former Colorado State Director of Special Education. After a long and successful career in educational leadership in California and Colorado, Dr. Harkness is now coordinating the Assistive Technology Program of Colorado, a federally funded program to promote statewide access to and acquisition of assistive technology. As part of the project, Dr. Harkness has facilitated the establishment of Colorado AT Match – a website where individuals can look to find various devices and programs for sale or trade, and Colorado AT Funding $ources – a website that provides information for individuals, families, and caregivers to identify funding for assistive technology. In addition, she coordinates the Colorado Assistive Technology Coalition, a group of state leaders with the common goal of getting assistive technology to Colorado residents of all ages who can benefit from it in their work, home, or community life.
