Test Includes:  Alanine, a-amino-n-butyric acid, a-aminoadipic acid, anserine, arginine,
argininosuccinic acid, aspartic acid, b-alanine, b-aminoisobutyric acid, carnosine, citrulline,
cystathionine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, histidine, homocystine, hydroxylysine, isoleucine,
leucine, lysine, methionine, 1-methylhistidine, 3-methylhistidine, ornithine, phosphoethanolamine,
proline, sarcosine, serine, taurine, threonine and valine.
Availability:  Mon. - Fri., 0800 - 1700
Turnaround Time:  1 week.
Minimum Volume:  2.0 mL.
Container:  Durable, tightly sealed plastic urine container (not a urine cup).
Collection:  Morning urine preferred.
Sample Handling:  Random urine, morning specimen preferred. Freeze without preservative.
Interpretive Reference Range:  Subjective interpretation based on amino acid amounts and pattern.
Use:  Examining for disorders of amino acid metabolism or transport.
Methodology:  Ion exchange chromatography(amino acid analyzer).
