Turnaround Time: 2 - 3 days.
Minimum Volume: 2.0 mL.
Container: Durable, tightly sealed plastic urine container (not a urine cup).
Specimen Handling: Random urine, morning specimen preferred. Freeze immediately after
collection without preservative.
Interpretive Reference Range: Semi-quantitative determination of peak size relative to
other amino acids.
Use: Increased in sulfite oxidase deficiency and molybdenum cofactor deficiency.
Methodology: Dip stick for sulfite, and ion exchange chromatography.
