Welcome to the Colorado Clinical Nutrition Research Unit (CNRU)
Mass Spectrometry Facility.
Researchers in our state-of-the art laboratories provide analytical
services and develop new assays and technologies in the areas of
mass spectrometry, proteomics, metabolomics, pharmacokinetics
and isotope labeling studies. The facility is also developing
diagnostic tools to predict disease and to monitor progress of
disease and treatment (biomarker discovery).
In addition to investigators within the Human Nutrition Center, we
provide services to other groups within UCD, including the
University of Colorado School of Medicine, the University of Colorado
School of Pharmacy, the University of Colorado Denver,
University
of Colorado Hospital (UCH) , The
Children's Hospital of Denver, and National
Jewish Medical and Research Center. We also
offer our services to outside and industrial partners.
The Mass Spectrometry Facility furnishes instruments and technologies
that would not normally be available to most independent investigators
and provides comprehensive instruction for interested investigators in
order to increase their proficiency in our complex technologies and
instrumentation. We have developed a highly successful "hands-on"
proteomics educational program and are extending our curriculum to
other areas in systems biology.
Please follow the navigational links to obtain more detailed
information about our proteomic analyses, including two-dimensional
gel and multi-dimensional chromatography workflows; quantitative
measurements of drugs and hormones; biochemical profiling of
metabolites; gas isotope ratio determinations for total energy
expenditure (TEE) and total body water (TBW) measurements;
and a variety of pharmacokinetic and clinical studies.
