Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis remains one of the best ways to quantitate protein expression differences in large scale projects. The CNRU Mass Spectrometry Facility uses GE Healthcare and BioRad instruments for separating proteins by isoelectric focusing in the first dimension and mass in the second dimension. We can accommodate a variety of IPG strip sizes and gel dimensions. High throughput, multiplexed analyses are accomplished by running up to 12 gels concurrently in one electrophoresis tank.
We are also equipped for DIGE, Difference In Gel Electrophoresis, with a Typhoon Trio Imager and DeCyder software. Follow the links to learn more about our instrumentation.
