ENRICHING THE NUCLEAR FRACTIONKits are available from BioRad and Pierce for isolating and enriching nuclear proteins. These kits typically provide both a nuclear and cytosolic fraction. Please follow the links to the protocols. Before using the protocols you will generally: Pellet cells at 500 x g for 3 min. (Make sure you pre-weigh your tubes so you can determine a cell weight). Remove supernatant and wash 3-4 times in wash buffer. Remove all supernatant and re-weigh cells to obtain a wet weight.
