STEPWISE FRACTIONATION OF CYTOPLASMIC PROTEINSA kit is available from BioRad for sequentially partitioning proteins that are increasingly insoluble. This kit allows you to obtain three fractions in one preparation. Please follow the link to the protocol. Before using the protocol you will generally:1) Pellet cells at 500 x g for 3 min. (Make sure you pre-weigh your tubes so you can determine a cell weight). 2) Remove supernatant and wash 3-4 times in wash buffer. Remove all supernatant and re-weigh cells to obtain a wet weight.
