PLASMA SAMPLE SIMPLIFICATION - IMMUNODEPLETION
High abundance proteins such as albumin, IgG, anti-trypsin, transferring and haptoglobin account for approximately 95% of the protein content in plasma. There are an estimated 20,000 remaining low abundance proteins present in plasma with a wide range of concentrations. The high abundance proteins are typically removed for best results in analyzing the low abundance proteins.
The CNRU Mass Spectrometry Core Facility employs several different methods for depleting plasma samples. Follow the links for more information.
PIERCE ProteoSeek Albumin/IgG removal kit (#89875) Cibacron blue dye non-specifically binds albumin/IgG
ProteoSeek Albumin/IgG removal kit (#89876)
Antibody-based removal
AGILENT Multiple Affinity column-based removal (Immunodepletion). Depletes albumin, IgG, anti-trypsin, IgA, transferrin, and haptoglobin.
