RESEARCH INSTITUTES AND PROGRAMS

Research is on-going in many areas within the division. Notable is a newly established CU Cardiovascular Institute that has linked the clinical activities of the division with the rich basic research environment. Specific interactions that have been supported include studies with investigators in the division of Genetics investigating genetic mechanisms of cardiac muscle dysfunction. The division is comprised of excellent Research Faculties, who with their clinical and research knowledge are working towards finding a better cure in heart diseases. The heart failure group is involved in a large number of trials studying both pharmacological and mechanical therapies for patients with advanced heart failure.
