Genomic organization of the human CBS gene. All exons, including the alternatively used exons -1a, b, c, d, e and 15 are represented by solid red boxes. The beginning and the end of the coding region are indicated by the codons ATG and TGA, respectively. The restriction sites are B, BamH I; E, EcoR I; H, Hind III; K, Kpn I; M, Mlu I; S, Sfi I; X, Xba I.
