CFAR Membership

The Colorado CFAR supports 112 active members from University of Colorado Denver, National Jewish Medical and Research Center, CU-Boulder, Denver Health/Public Health, Colorado State University, the Denver VA, and the Children's Hospital.

Members bring a diversity of expertise and experience in Basic science, Clinical medicine and research, Behavioral science and Education, and Public Health to HIV research at the University of Colorado and dynamism to the CFAR Research conference. Over half (51%) have earned Ph.D.'s, 49% MD/DO's, and 3% Pharm.D.'s.

Thus, the strength of the Colorado CFAR is to juxtapose the creativity and intellectual acuity inherent in these contrasting background and perceptions to allow investigators to contribute in new areas. Each provides new skills and services, new collaborators, new entrée to the questions and the methods related to HIV-related disease pathogenesis, immunology, behavior, prevention and treatment. This range of experience contributes to many opportunities for peer collaborations, mentorship, and active discussion.
