    Research Interest:

The Reyland lab is interested in protein kinase C delta (PKCδ) mediated regulation of apoptosis. PKCδ functions in signal transduction pathways by phosphorylating key cellular proteins involved in the apoptosis. We have shown that this phosphorylation is essential for genotoxin-induced apoptosis in the salivary gland. My thesis project focuses on the role of PKCδ during mammary gland development. In vivo studies include whole mount mammary gland analysis from PKCδ WT and KO mice, while in vitro studies utilize primary 3D culture.

    General Interests:
Camping, live music, taking naps with my cats Sappho and Benicio del Gato, local brews, farmers markets, vegan cooking and chicken salad (think about that), and Colorado sun.
