Research Interests:
The research in our laboratory focuses on the key proteins involved in membrane traffic. These key proteins include coat proteins mediating vesicles formation, molecular mortars responsible for vesicles transport, tethering and SNARE proteins in charge of the vesicles docking and fusion.  We mainly study on the Rab GTPases and SNAREs that play a role in determining the specificity of membrane transport.  I am currently investigating the role of SNARE proteins in the process of MMP9 secretion and Rab proteins in the process of integrins recycling in breast cancer cells.

General Interests:
I like outdoor sports very much, playing basketball, soccer, volleyball under the sun.  I also enjoy hiking rock climbing and skiing in the mountains.  I also enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring nature with my wife, Li Ma.
