Helen Harrison & Elizabeth Mehren.jpg (103336 bytes)Parents who are going through the experience of having an infant in a neonatal intensive care unit can benefit greatly from support from other parents who have been in similar circumstances. Whether on-line, in person, or on the phone there are many resources for new parents entering the world of NICU parents. Parents such as Helen Harrison and Elizabeth Mehren, shown at right, are not only authors of preemie books, but have done much to advance the work of parent support. Local graduate parents Dianne Maroney and  Amy Tracy, have developed a wonderful book for parents going home from the NICU. A synopsis of the book and other great resources  can be found on their website,  "Your Premature Baby and Child"

Please access these many resources or ask your NICU about any local parent support groups who might be available.
