Gone through any changes lately?
4 minute videotape(The slinky video!)

As we move into the 21st century, many of us are grappling with how to best respond to the many fast-paced changes in our lives at work and home. This four minute video helps people consider change positively through the metaphor of a slinky. The video is an ideal introduction for educational programs or workshops; for use by discussion facilitators, teams leaders, trainers, educators, administrators, managers, supervisors, and human resource personnel. It's both funny and thought provoking. Produced by Larry Edelman and Joy Browne, JFK Partners, University of Colorado Denver. This videotape is available for $39.95 from Western Media Products.

When a family has a baby who is at risk or has special needs, they are entitled to certain supports, services, and rights according to I.D.E.A. or the "Individuals with Disabilities Education Act". In this law, the section that refers to supports & services for children under three years of age is referred to as Part C, and in Colorado as Early Childhood Connections. For more information on the current system of referral and care coordination, please contact the Part C / NICU Liaison project at:

The BEGINNINGS IFSP

The BEGINNINGS form was designed to adapt the IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan) to the NICU setting in Colorado. The process is started  in a hospital as compared to a community setting. It is considered a legal IFSP, and is useful for two important reasons. First, it is adapted to take the newborn’s special developmental needs into consideration. Second, it sets the process in motion and is valid until either the family’s needs change, or the family needs other supports not addressed by this format.

To be copied onto 11 X 17 paper to make a four-page, foldable document. Please do not alter the form or use in any other ways than intended. Please reference the form for usage. The BEGINNINGS may or may not meet other states' regulatory requirements for implementation of Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
