Clinical Science
Honor Code / Clinical Science Pledge
"As a clinical investigator, I commit myself to protect the rights, promote the welfare, minimize any unnecessary harm, and maximize potential benefit to all individuals who volunteer as participants in research. Wherever appropriate, an informed consent process will be incorporated into my research study design and project implementation plans.
Wherever possible, I will strive to assure justice is achieved in the equitable distribution of both benefits and burdens of research. I will protect each patient's confidentiality and assure the security of any research data obtained, as well as respect each research patient's autonomy and privacy.
I will remain mindful of the potential conflicts between my multiple roles as researcher, teacher, administrator, clinician, and private citizen. I will strive to always meet the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and responsibility in the conduct of my research and in reporting these results. In context of these commitments, I dedicate myself to the pursuit of truth and the advancement of scientific knowledge towards the goal of improving clinical patient care."
