Gozansky, MD, MPH.
Through her project entitled An Age-Stratified, Phase I Study of
Capecitabine, ZD1839, and Oxaliplatin in Patients with Advanced Solid
Tumors, Dr. Basche is investigating the effectiveness of the combination
of capecitabine, ZD1839, and oxaliplatin as a second-line treatment of
colorectal cancer in both younger and older patients.
Dr. Gozansky's project entitled Estrogens, Cortisol, and Visceral Fat
in Menopausal Women aims to extend existing knowledge about the potential
mechanisms by which hormone replacement therapy may prevent cardiovascular
disease after menopause.
Drs. Michele Basche and
Wendolyn Gozansky have been
awarded Hartford/Jahnigen

The Hartford/Jahnigen Center of Excellence also awarded a Fellowship

Dr. Cari Levy has
received a Hartford/Jahnigen

home care differs for residents who do and do not have advanced care directives.
Dr. Bray-Hall received her medical degree and completed her Internal Medicine
residency at the University of Colorado. Her primary research interest
relates to hospice care, and she plans to investigate the methods by
which physicians decide which medications are most beneficial for patients
in hospice.
Donna Regenstreif, PhD, Senior Program Officer at the John A. Hartford
Foundation, will visit UCD to conduct the annual site visit evaluation
of the Hartford/Jahnigen Center of Excellence program on January 8, 2003.
Current Hartford/Jahnigen COE Assistant Professor and Fellowship Stipend
