On March 1, 2007, a new 5-year award period for the Hartford/Jahnigen Center of Excellence (COE) in Geriatrics will begin. Whereas prior COE awards have been directed by Dr. Andrew Kramer, Head of the Division of Health Care Policy and Research, and co-directed by Dr. Robert Schwartz, Head of the Division of Geriatric Medicine, their roles will be reversed for the new grant. Although the leadership of the COE will change, the objectives of the Center will not. The COE will continue to promote collaboration in aging research and to provide training opportunities for outstanding physicians committed to academic careers in geriatric medicine. The COE will continue to fund three types of awards: Junior Faculty Stipends, Senior Fellowship Stipends, and small research grants. For information about funding available through the COE, please contact Robert S. Schwartz at robert.schwartz@uchsc.edu or (303) 315-8668. Additional information and applications for COE funding are available online at http://www.uchsc.edu/coa/jahnigen/index.php. |
