Awards will be made to promote interest and knowledge in the discipline of
Geriatrics among students, residents and fellows at the University of Colorado Denver.
Eligibility: All students of the Health Sciences Center who are in their clinical year(s) as
well as residents and fellows may apply for this award. As an interdisciplinary award, students
of the Health Sciences Center Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and
the Graduate School are eligible.
Letters of Application will be accepted twice per academic year, due in the Fall,
November, and again for Spring due in April.
To apply for this award interested individuals must submit a letter of application to the
Jahnigen Award Committee detailing the dollar amount** requested and a description of how
they would use the award to advance their knowledge and interest in geriatric medicine. Those
who want to apply for the award toward research, must submit a description of the proposed or ongoing
research project with their application letter. Examples of requested uses could include:
Conference participation, textbook acquisition, research project funding/expenses, etc.
The number and dollar amount of award(s) varies yearly dependent on applicant submissions,
requests, needs, and committee determinations.
Applications will be reviewed and awards determined by the Jahnigen Award Committee.
