HOW TO APPLY

(Health Sciences Center students only)


Veterans and dependents that have never used their VA benefits:

  • Complete VA Form 22-1990 (veterans) or 22-5490 (dependents) using the Veterans Online Application website (VONAPP)

  • Complete the UCDHSC Application for VA Education Benefits



  • Veterans and dependents continuing their VA benefits at UCDHSC:

  • Submit the UCDHSC Application for VA Education Benefits



  • Veterans and dependents transferring to UCDHSC or changing programs:

  • Complete VA Form 22-1995 (veterans) or 22-5495 (dependents) using the Veterans Online Application website (VONAPP).

  • Submit the UCDHSC Application for VA Education Benefits



  • Veterans eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation benefits (VOC REHAB):

  • Contact your Vocational Rehabilitation case manager



  • The average time for the VA to process an original claim is 8 to 10 weeks

    The average time for the VA to process a supplemental claim is 6 to 8 weeks.
