Welcome to the UCDHSC Veterans Affairs Office. Our goal is to assist eligible veterans and dependents in applying for and receiving their education benefits under Chapters 30, 32, 35 or 1606; VEAP, or Selected Reserve.
HOW TO APPLY
(Health Sciences Center students only)
Veterans and dependents that have never used their VA benefits:
Complete VA Form 22-1990 (veterans) or 22-5490 (dependents) using the Veterans Online Application website (VONAPP)
Complete the UCDHSC Application for VA Education Benefits
Veterans and dependents continuing their VA benefits at UCDHSC:
Submit the UCDHSC Application for VA Education Benefits
Veterans and dependents transferring to UCDHSC or changing programs:
Complete VA Form 22-1995 (veterans) or 22-5495 (dependents) using the Veterans Online Application website (VONAPP).
Submit the UCDHSC Application for VA Education Benefits
Veterans eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation benefits (VOC REHAB):
Contact your Vocational Rehabilitation case manager
The average time for the VA to process an original claim is 8 to 10 weeks
The average time for the VA to process a supplemental claim is 6 to 8 weeks.
