The Board of Directors of the Institute (the "board") is an independent, unincorporated association formed at the request of the Dean of the Medical School to set and implement the mission, goals and policies of the Given Institute as approved by the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  The board has no other affiliation with the University or the Medical School.

The mission of the board is (i) to help make the Institute more relevant to the local Roaring Fork Valley community by advising and assisting in the development, promotion and presentation of the Institute's public lectures and health related programs and (ii) to advise and assist the Institute Director in the promotion and use of the Institute.
