Malpractice Confirmation
The GME Office provides confirmation of malpractice coverage for Housestaff within the scope of training for residents applying for licensure and those rotating outside any of the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine affiliates.
Process for obtaining Malpractice Confirmation for credentialing:
1. Residents should contact the Office of GME by calling 303-724-6031 and provide the following information:

Name
-
Reason for needing the confirmation
-
Resident's contact information
2. Office of GME Staff person will check the period of coverage and generate a letter to be sent (or faxed) to the Houseofficer requesting the information.
3. If the Malpractice Confirmation is needed for licensing with the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners (BME), the letter will be provided directly to the the BME. Otherwise, GME will supply the confirmation ONLY directly to the resident requesting the letter.

Malpractice confirmation for any rotations outside of the affiliated institutions are done with an Educational Letter of Agreement that must be completed by the Program Director. For more information go to Educational Letters of Agreement.
