Orientation

There are 4 types of Orientation for GME trainees at UCD:
  Offered Annually
 
  Offered on an On-Going Basis
 
 

New Resident Institutional Orientation:
  Required for all trainees entering a new program at UCD.
It consists of two parts: Live and On-line Training Modules.
   
  Live Orientation:
  All new trainees must attend one of the following live orientations:
 
  Friday, June 20, 2008 Intern Orientation  
  Tuesday, July 1, 2008 Resident/Fellow Orientation
   
  On-Line Orientation Modules:
  To minimize the time spent in orientation lectures yet meet specific requirements, we have developed 7 modules that new resident must complete before they begin training. To complete the training please go to On-line Training Modules
   
New Resident Program Orientation:
  Conducted at the program level for all trainees entering the specific program.
The program director or coordinator will have specific information.
   
Affiliated Hospital Orientation:
 

This on-line orientation provides practical institution-specific information for the trainees. Information provided includes where to park, how to get access to the information systems,
clinical practice guide, etc.

Every trainee is required to review the Participating Hospital Orientation web page before beginning a rotation at the particular participating institution .

Service/ Rotation Specific Orientation:
  The first time a resident rotates at a specific service, a junior or senior
resident on the service will provide a one-to-one orientation about
how that service works and other relevant information.
