Jim Grigsby, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine in the Divisions
of HCPR and Geriatric Medicine, and Associate Director of the Center for Health Services
Research. His research involved both health services research and cognitive neuroscience.
For several years he has studied the use of telecommunications and information technology in
the delivery of heath care, risk-adjustment methodology, and the epidemiology of cognitive
impairment among older persons. Dr. Grigsby is currently Principal Investigator on an NINDS-funded
study of the fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS), and an NIA-funded study of the
effects on cognition of chemotherapy for breast cancer. He is currently completing the analysis of
data from a Department of Defense-funded study of the effects of androgen deprivation on cognition among
men with stage 4 prostate cancer.
