v
Dr. Radcliff joined the Division of Health Care Policy and Research in
August of 2003. In addition to her faculty appointment in HCPR, she teaches courses for the UCD
School of Nursing and Business School. She is also an investigator for the Colorado Research Enhancement
Award Program to improve Care Coordination (CRICC) at the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Her research interests include access to care for underserved populations, interaction between market
forces and health care delivery, and measuring quality and outcomes of care. Recent applications of these
interests consist of papers that examine personal and diagnostic characteristics of rural patients who
bypass local hospitals for care, use of services among seasonal migrants and how this impacts local
hospitals, and a grant from the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute to evaluate the cost-effectiveness
of alternative post weight-loss maintenance strategies for rural women.
She is principal investigator for a new grant to study hip fracture repair and outcomes funded by the U.S.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Dr. Radcliff recently completed a study as principal investigator for
the UCD Department of Medicine to assess decision-making processes and preferences for rehabilitation
setting after major joint arthroplasty. She also serves as an active collaborator for other projects,
including a Congressionally-mandated evaluation of a Background Check Pilot Program for long-term care
workers.
Dr. Radcliff received a Ph.D. in Health Services Research, Policy, and Administration with emphasis in
health economics from the University of Minnesota in 2000.
