IPRO Managed Long-term Care (MLTC) Software Project
Funded by: IPRO.
Project Period: 12/04 - 07/07
Summary/Abstract
A subcontract from the Island Peer Review Organization (IPRO) to provide software development, technical
support, and data instrument design services to the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
The focus of the project is to support the development and implementation of the Semi-Annual
Assessment of Members (SAAM) data collection instrument. SAAM is derived, in large part, from
the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) previously developed by Division faculty on
behalf of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. SAAM is an integral part of NYSDOH's
administration of New York State's Managed Long-term Care (MLTC) program. Uses of SAAM include
eligibility determination, assessment of members, quality monitoring, and continuous improvement
of the quality of care provided by the MLTC plans.
Key Staff: David Hittle (PI), Jim Beaudry (CO-PI), Pat Walker, Laurel Brown, Kathy Crisler.
