Test of a Managed Care Approach for Elderly Medicare Patients at University Hospital

This project tested care management strategies in a sample of 50 Seniors Clinic patients in comparison to a matched sample of patients who received their health care in the University Hospital system. The Seniors Clinic patients were compared to the matched sample on utilization outcomes, selected process markers, patient satisfaction, and total costs for Medicare services.
