What's New
STIPENDS - Co-Presidents are currently participating in meetings concerning the stipends for the 2010-2011 academic year. Obviously the state of the U.S. economy is a major determinant in the considerations.
H1N1 vaccine availability has been sporadic at the different hospitals. GME is maintaining updates on their website.
We met with UCH Administration in October to discuss concerns raised by the survey, and plans for the roll-out of the new electronic medical records system and the new tower. Training will be required for all residents using the EMR system.
Representatives participated in a GME Forum on October 14. Specific task forces reviewed: Transition of care and patient safety in the context of GME; Balance of Service and Education; GME Funding; and ACGME program requirement changes that impact patient safety.
The Executive Committee members meet monthly throughout the year. Your department representatives should keep you informed of current issues. Keep in touch with your departmental representatives and let them know if you have any concerns. You may also contact the Housestaff Association office via Sally.Robben@ucdenver.edu or call 303-724-3039.
Reminding all of you, the power of the Association is in membership numbers. Your membership support and involvement is critical to our ability to successfully represent you. Our collective housestaff voice provides credibility to address issues.
