August 2007 Article in the New England Journal of Medicine titled "Prophylaxis versus Episodic Treatment to Prevent Joint Disease in Boys with Severe Hemophilia". The groundbreaking conclusion of the paper, authored in part by MSRHTC members, is a finding that hemophilia treatment with prophylaxis provides several benefits over episodic treatment. These benefits include prevention of joint damage and a decrease in the frequency of joint and other hemorrhages in young boys with severe hemophilia A.
