Application Process
Applications should include the following information:
  • Applications are now accepted only through our on-line system. Access on-line applications here, https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=UCHSC-G . If you apply to multiple graduate programs at UCD, make sure you list an order of preference for such programs.
  • An official transcript(s) and a list of courses currently undertaken, from all colleges attended
  • Four letters of reference (4) from individuals such as college professors, who are familar with your academic and/or laboratory achievements. Such letters should be sent directly to the department (see below for address) from the individual providing the reference
  • Documentation of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). The GRE code number for the University of Colorado Health Science Center is R4877 and the Department of Immunology code number is 0608. The GRE testing service can also be accessed on-line at http://www.ets.org . In order for the scores to be available in January, students should take the exam no later than December. Students are encouraged to take the subject test for their field of study, as this is often a necessary criteria for applying for additional fellowships. It is unlikely that students will be interviewed unless they have taken the GRE.
  • Students whose native language is not English or who have completed their studies at an institution where english was not the language of instruction, must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting scores of the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or its equivalent. The student should attain a score of at least 550. The codes for the institution and the department are the same as for the GRE.
  • A $65 application fee
  • DEADLINE: Applications are reviewed as they are received beginning in the middle of December and applicants are encouraged to submit their material as early as possible as the recruitment committee generally meets early in January. Applications received after January 1st may not be considered. Following the receipt of completed material, successful applicants are invited for interviews in either late January or February.
