Student Retreat - 2006

The graduate students in the Department of Immunology gather in the fall to share their research interests, harbor friendships, enjoy outdoor mountain activities, and meet students from other programs. The 2006 Student Retreat was held at the DU High Altitude Research Laboratory, located at the base of Mt. Evans, one of Colorado’s beautiful 14,000 ft mountains. DU’s rustic property includes multiple cabins, which can sleep our entire student body of 42 students, and fully equipped kitchens/BBQs so that we can enjoy a secluded weekend in the mountains. This cabin also provides access to several hiking trails including one to the top of Mt. Evans and access to nearby Echo Lake. This year we also invited students from the Microbiology program to join at our retreat to encourage interaction with our Fitzsimmons colleagues. We enjoyed hearing about their research and hope to continue these friendships in the future.
