Kathy Barriga

Kathy Barriga is the study coordinator and data analyst for the DAISY study. She has been with the University of Colorado Denver since completing a Masters degree in Sport Sciences in 1990 and with the DAISY study since completing a Master of Science in Public Health degree in 1997. Prior to joining the DAISY team, Kathy worked as a research assistant in the areas of cardiovascular rehabilitation and the epidemiology of type 2 diabetes. Currently Kathy also works with several other research projects, including TEDDY, CEDAR, a Celiac disease study and IVY, a nutritional type 1 diabetes study. Outside of work, Kathy has a passion for dogs and for gardening. She shares her home with two Airedale Terriers, Mikey and Maxine, and volunteers at the Denver Dumb Friends League as a dog training instructor. |
