I had a wonderful time during interview weekend and enjoyed spending time with the students in the program. What labs you rotated in: Mike Zawada, Nancy Zahniser, Manisha Patel What lab you joined and why: Manisha Patel; I was fascinated with the research and felt very comfortable in the lab. Short description of your project: The role of mitochondrial aconitase in mediating neuronal injury. Where you attended undergrad and what your major/minor(s) were: The University of Texas at San Antonio, Major: Biology What you did (if anything) between undergrad and grad school: I worked as a research assistant at UTSA for 8 months.
