Lisa Wilson > lisa.wilson@uchsc.edu Year you started the Neuroscience Program: 2006 Why you chose the UC Denver Neuroscience Program: I chose the Neuroscience Program at UCD because after interviewing here and meeting the faculty, it felt like a perfect fit. And it has been. The faculty members are truly interested in the students and the program. And the quality of the research being done here is outstanding. Plus, as an extra bonus, Denver is a great place to be. What labs you rotated in: Sherry Leonard, Don Rojas, Jason Tregellas What lab you joined and why: Don Rojas. In addition to my rotation with Don, I interned in his lab for two summers before getting into the program and have always been impressed with his research. Short description of your project: I am using MEG and MRI to look at language processing in the parents of children with autism, as well as adults with autism. Where you attended undergrad and what your major/minor(s) were: I originally completed a BA in International Relations at Tufts University, and then attended a Second Majors Program in Neuroscience at Columbia University. What you did (if anything) between undergrad and grad school: After my first undergrad, I worked on Wall Street in Options and Corporate Banking. I also worked for a small watch business, doing everything from answering the phone, keeping track of finances and helping design the watches.
