Matt Pink > matt.pink@uchsc.edu Year you started the Neuroscience Program: 2004 Why you chose the UC Denver Neuroscience Program: Strength of research particularly in the field of LTP; faculty and students; very open atmosphere; good sense of camaraderie. What labs you rotated in: Mike Browning, Kevin Staley, Mark Dell'Acqua What lab you joined and why: I joined the Dell'Acqua lab. Mark is a great PI, he is incredibly knowledgeable and the lab atmosphere is a good fit for me. Short description of your project: Currently I am studying the mobility of the AKAP79 complex in living cells, using FRAP to determine the recovery half-life and percent recovery for AKAP79, PKARII, and CaNA. I am also beginning to look at a possible relationship between Stargazin and AKAP79 in AMPA receptor insertion and endocytosis. Where you attended undergrad and what your major/minor(s) were: University of Wisconsin-Madison, Major: Biology with an emphasis in neuroscience What you did (if anything) between undergrad and grad school: went right on to grad school Other school affiliated activities/clubs you are involved in: Graduate Student Council What you like to do outside of school: Run, Ski, Exercise in general, Hang out with friends |
