Year you started the Neuroscience Program: 2005

Why you chose the UC Denver Neuroscience Program: I started my pHd program in New Orleans, LA (LSU), after the hurricane Katrina in October 2005, I had to move temporarily out of state. For a number of reasons I ended at UCHS. Once here, i stared working in collaboration with Dr Robert Murphy and Kim Heidenreich; very quickly we obtained very interesting and exciting results that lead to the program transfer to UCHSC. One of the main decision factors for the transfer was the high level of neuroscience program and their faculties.

What labs you rotated in: In LSU I rotated in a molecular biology, electrophysiology and animal behavioral laboratories

What lab you joined and why: Kim Heidenreich

Short description of your project: Study of bioactive lipids in brain injury models

What you did (if anything) between undergrad and grad school: worked in chemical company (Sigma-Aldrich Argentina) doing technical support and sales.
