Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes is Moving
Beginning the week of April 18, the Barbara Davis Center will begin moving
to its new home at the Fitzsimons campus.
This will be a two phase transition with the Research Division moving the
week of April 18 and the Clinical Division moving the week of May 2. The
Center will begin seeing patients at the new location on May 9.
The new Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes four-story building
is more than 109,000 square feet and is located at 1775 Ursula St. on the
Fitzsimons
campus. The first floor is clinical space and the second floor is for clinical
research. Floors three and four will be used for laboratory research space.
The Center is the largest diabetes and endocrine care program in Colorado
and provides state-of-the-art clinical diabetes care to a majority of children
and many adults. Most patients come from the Rocky Mountain Region, although
the Center receives national and international referrals as well.
Its mission is to provide care for children and adults with Type I diabetes;
to provide a unique environment to foster clinical and basic biomedical
research; and to support the development and application of research for
the prevention,
cure and understanding of the disease process that leads to Type I diabetes.
