Call for Florence Sewall and
Joseph Sabin Award Nominations

You are invited to submit nominations for the Florence Rena Sabin Award and the Joseph Addison Sewall Award. These awards will be presented at this year’s Commencement on Friday, May 27.

The Florence Rena Sabin Award is given in Dr. Florence Sabin’s memory. She was an extraordinary researcher in neuroanatomy and made significant contributions in the area of public health. The award is given to an alumnus of the UCD or to an individual outside of the University of Colorado Denver who has made an exceptional contribution to the UCD or to the health of the citizens of the State of Colorado. A letter of nomination and at least two letters of support must accompany the nomination.

The Joseph Addison Sewall Award is given in the name of the first President of the University of Colorado. The award is given to a current or former member of the faculty or staff of the UCD who has made exceptional contributions of leadership and vision to the UCHSC. A letter of nomination and at least two letters of support must accompany the nomination.

A list of all past recipients of these awards is attached (pp 8-11 of the document).

Nominations and support letters for the Sabin and Sewall awards will be accepted through Monday, March 7, 2005.
