CU Cancer Center Hosts Free Educational Event about Lung Cancer
AURORA, Colo. (Nov. 17, 2005) — The University of Colorado Cancer Center is hosting a free educational event for people with lung cancer and their loved ones. The event takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Shore Family Forum conference room, located in the Nighthorse Campbell Building on the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center Fitzsimons campus in Aurora, Colo.
During the workshop — "Frankly Speaking about Lung Cancer: Stepping Back to Take a Closer Look" — Dr. Karen Kelly, a renowned leader in lung cancer, and Anne Leyba, NP, an oncology nurse, will provide new information about lung cancer and how patients can develop more proactive relationships with their health care team during recovery. Susan DeWitt, a lung cancer survivor, will offer inspirational guidance about living with cancer. All participants will receive a free resource booklet updated and endorsed by The Wellness Community, CancerCare and the Alliance for Lung Cancer Advocacy, Support and Education (ALCASE).
