Media Tour of the New Center for Dependency, Addiction & Rehabilitation (CeDAR)
at the University of Colorado at Denver & Health Sciences Center's Fitzsimons Campus

WHAT: Advance media tours of the University of Colorado Hospital's Center for Dependency, Addiction & Rehabilitation (CeDAR), which officially opens to patients on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Located on the UCDHSC campus at Fitzsimons, CeDAR is the only premier residential addiction treatment facility in the Rocky Mountain region. Unlike any other treatment center in the United States, CeDAR operates in collaboration with the Betty Ford Center, one of the most successful and well-known residential treatment facilities in the country.
The center will feature courtyards and paths for meditation and exercise. Its secluded location will provide patient privacy and easy access to the Anschutz Centers for Advanced Medicine. Tours of the new $14 million facility will include an opportunity for interviews, b-roll and photos, including:
information about the 30-day program;
tours of the 50-bed campus, including two residential treatment cottages and an assessment/detoxification building;
a fitness and family center; and
the Lori Wolf House (formally the General's Residence).
