Area of Research:
Ms. Thompson joined the Center in October 2001 to help implement
Colorado on the Move™, a statewide initiative to increase lifestyle physical
activity as measured by step counters.
Educational/Professional Background:
Ms. Thompson is currently the Program and Research Liaison for the Center
for Human Nutrition. She is implementing worksite programs for Colorado on the Move™, a statewide initiative to combat obesity and obesity related
diseases. She has been working in the past several years to create community
partnerships in diabetes and has now transferred this work to obesity.
Ms. Thompson spent most of her 25-year career in nutrition as a clinical dietitian
specializing in outpatient and home care services. She received a BS
in Nutrition from the University of New Mexico and an MA in Gerontology
Administration and Management from the University of Northern Colorado.
