Area of Research:
Ms.Rome works with the Look AHEAD Research Study as a Lifestyle Interventionist. Look AHEAD is a long term weight loss study for people with type 2 diabetes, 45 - 75 years of age, who are overweight or obese. Look AHEAD is a national study, being conducted at 20 sites in the U.S. and is funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Disease
Educational/Professional Background:
Ms. Rome receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1980 in psychology and therapeutic recreation. Previous employment included being a Clinical Specialist with the Fort Logan Mental Health Center, and over 20 years of experience in fitness and wellness. She has been a consultant for Phase II, a type 2 diabetes study with Rose Biomedical Department and teaches classes for the American Heart Association.
