Clinical Services
High-Risk Pregnancy - Maternal and Obstetrical Complications
Specialists in Maternal-Fetal Medicine are available to care for women with medical complications such as pregnancy induced hypertension, chronic hypertension, cardiac disease, venous thromboembolic disorders, hematologic disorders, pulmonary disease, infections, gastrointestinal disorders, renal disease, collagen vascular disease, and neoplastic disease. These physicians offer evaluation and management of pregnancies complicated by premature labor, premature rupture of the membranes, chorioamnionitis, unexplained vaginal bleeding, and other obstetrical complications.
Telemedicine conferences can be arranged with outlying hospitals.
Fetal Complications
Faculty provide consultation and management of patients referred for fetal complications such as Rh disease, intrauterine growth restriction, macrosomia, hydramnios, or other fetal abnormalities.
Infectious Diseases
Specialists in infectious diseases in pregnancy provide comprehensive care of women whose pregnancy is complicated by bacterial vaginosis, common sexually transmitted diseases, cytomegalovirus, toxoplasmosis, herpes, vaginitis, and other infectious diseases.
Prenatal Diagnosis and Genetics
Specialists provide prenatal detection, evaluation, and genetic counseling for pregnancies complicated by genetic disorders. These services are also provided for fetal abnormalities detected during the course of pregnancy. Procedures include amniocentesis, fetal blood sampling, chorionic villus sampling and comprehensive ultrasonographic evaluations.
