Data Gathering Tools Available at University of Colorado Denver

Background

Projects and Programs (known in the past as account numbers before PeopleSoft implementation), are used by G&C to identify each award within the PeopleSoft financial system.

• Projects include both fund 30 and 31 awards. Fund 30 projects include federal, state, and private sponsors. Fund 31 projects include local government sponsors such as a county.

• Programs are classified as fund 34, gift funds accepted by the University of Colorado Foundation as charitable contributions and subsequently transferred to UC Denver for use by the institution exclusively to fulfill its exempt purpose(s).

Information Resources Management (IRM)

• CIW - The Central Information Warehouse (CIW) database provides CU administrative data for analysis and reporting
  • Sign Up - A explanation of the CIW and instruction on how to become a user.
  • FishNet - A query writing service that delivers CIW data in MS Excel.  FishNet does not replace reports available in PeopleSoft and SIS.
